I cannot believe I am writing this on March 6, 2017 but there are SO many amazing images I made last year and so many awesome people I met along the way—I can't leave them behind without an awesome recap. 2016 proved to be the first big year of travel for SAP, including weddings and engagements in Chicago, New York, Asheville, Miami & Vermont. 2017 has even more destination weddings on the books.
Read MoreAshley & John celebrated their love at two St. Augustine gems—The Oldest House & St. Augustine Distillery. They got ready at John's parents house near the Bayfront, hiding from each other throughout the morning. It was a destination wedding for a lot of their family (traveling from CA) and they got to see the city lit up for Night of Lights and drink cocktails at our one and only distillery.
Read MoreNazmin & Kelly hired me to do their creative portraits post-wedding. These "after-sessions" are AWESOME because you don't have the stress of the wedding day and you can stroll around the city without a timeline to follow. :) We took portraits in the Treasury on the Plaza, where they were married only a month prior, and then headed toward the Lightner Museum. It was such a rad evening—here's a few of my favorites.
Read MoreIn lieu of today feeling like fall (finally!) in St. Augustine at a low of 70 :) I have a chance to sit down—windows open and comfortable— and reflect on this season. I have been moving Sarah Annay Photography slowly but surely to working the summer and fall months in Burlington, Vermont, where both my life and love affair with photography began. I had the opportunity to shoot Macey & Matt's wedding on September 3, 2016 and it was one for the books.
Read MoreI had a blast in Chicago for a little over 36 hours and I couldn't have had better tour guides than Kimberly & Johan. I absolutely LOVE seeing where my destination couples live and will travel anywhere to shoot awesome engagement sessions. It pushes me creativity to be on the loose in a new city!
Read MoreJared & Zara had their first ceremony & reception in the UK and when they asked me to shoot their Vermont reception—I was almost speechless. Jared is an amazing photographer in Boston and I was sure he had a few folks in mind. My brother grew up with Jared and it was the first wedding I worked with family around.
The day was as I imagined—completely laid back and absolutely beautiful. It ended up being a cold month in Vermont this July and the entire afternoon was a mix of mist and rain. Scott Farm is amazing. It was where Cider House Rules was filmed and even cooler, Jared's grandfather worked on the farm in the 1930's.
Read MoreBryn & Jarrod's wedding is one I will always remember. My first Miami adventure and it was spent with two awesome families that welcomed me like I was one of their own.
Bryn & Jarrod had their first look at Vizcaya Gardens, one of Miami's hottest (no pun intended) venues. And guess what? A huge storm rolled in. We waited it out in the gift shop and I am so glad we did. The rain stopped 15 minutes before closing time and because the storm scared everyone else away (it's rare to see this garden empty)—we were the only ones outside! The sun appeared in the gardens right as we were wrapping up and it's the most beautiful light I have seen this spring.
Read MoreStephanie & Steve met working at one of the most beautiful Inn's in the Southeast— The Omni Grove Park Inn, in the heart of Asheville and the Blue Ridge Mountains. We shot on an overcast Sunday which cast some of my favorite light, especially with the awesome abandoned house on the hill as our backdrop. These two will be wed in August in the middle of the woods at a Boys Summer Camp—it's going to be amazing. <3
Read MoreCait & Matt were married at Bowing Oaks in Jacksonville on May 15, 2016. Matt's dad married them under an oak tree in the late afternoon sun and it was one of the most beautiful ceremonies I've seen. The Posey's are a family of musicians and there was strumming, singing and praise the entire evening. Not to mention an amazing vintage pick-up parked outside as a Polaroid photo-booth backdrop for guests. Thrown in the back of the truck? Bags packed for California—Cait and Matt headed on a road trip out west the following morning.
Read MoreWas super excited when Danielle reached out asking about shooting their engagement at the Ice Plant Bar. Not only is it one of my favorite spots (and has killer light falling from the high windows mid-morning) but Verne is co-owner of Bosscal Mezcal and they wanted to incorporate the awesome bottle as well. Danielle & Verne are getting married in 2 months and I am super psyched to be part of their intimate wedding at The Lightner Museum & Casa Monica Hotel.
