Ashley & John celebrated their love at two St. Augustine gems—The Oldest House & St. Augustine Distillery. They got ready at John's parents house near the Bayfront, hiding from each other throughout the morning. It was a destination wedding for a lot of their family (traveling from CA) and they got to see the city lit up for Night of Lights and drink cocktails at our one and only distillery.
Read MoreI had a blast in Chicago for a little over 36 hours and I couldn't have had better tour guides than Kimberly & Johan. I absolutely LOVE seeing where my destination couples live and will travel anywhere to shoot awesome engagement sessions. It pushes me creativity to be on the loose in a new city!
Read MoreBryn & Jarrod's wedding is one I will always remember. My first Miami adventure and it was spent with two awesome families that welcomed me like I was one of their own.
Bryn & Jarrod had their first look at Vizcaya Gardens, one of Miami's hottest (no pun intended) venues. And guess what? A huge storm rolled in. We waited it out in the gift shop and I am so glad we did. The rain stopped 15 minutes before closing time and because the storm scared everyone else away (it's rare to see this garden empty)—we were the only ones outside! The sun appeared in the gardens right as we were wrapping up and it's the most beautiful light I have seen this spring.
Read MoreWas super excited when Danielle reached out asking about shooting their engagement at the Ice Plant Bar. Not only is it one of my favorite spots (and has killer light falling from the high windows mid-morning) but Verne is co-owner of Bosscal Mezcal and they wanted to incorporate the awesome bottle as well. Danielle & Verne are getting married in 2 months and I am super psyched to be part of their intimate wedding at The Lightner Museum & Casa Monica Hotel.
Read MoreI am so excited to share a few photos from Cait & Matt's engagement session—they also chose two of my favorite places in St. Augustine and Ponte Vedra, Mission Nobre de Dios and Guana Reserve.

This post is not only for my clients but for any couple wondering what this engagement-session phenomenon is all about.
An engagement session is about becoming comfortable with your photographer and learning what it takes to create rad portraits. It's important for the three of us to work together before the big day. It should (in my opinion) be provided to all couples who book a wedding package. Unless, for some reason, they absolutely detest the idea of an engagement shoot (which is okay), or can't make the trip before the wedding because they live in Antarctica (but if that were the case —I'd definitely fly there to shoot it.)Read More
I was not available for Oriana & Chad's wedding this past December—and was surprised (and excited!) to hear back from them a month later, saying that they were happy with their ceremony photos but really wanted a session with me for creative portraits. I had to post some of these images— not only because I am missing the night of lights magic but because her dress was killer and deserves some recognition.
Read MoreThe Casa Monica Hotel, in the heart of downtown St. Augustine, is one of my favorite venues. Even if my brides aren't getting married in one of their awesome ballrooms or the pool deck, I always recommend their suites for getting ready with the bridal party. They're spacious, beautiful and have the best view of St. Augustine (and Flagler College towers). Killer for detail shots. They recently contacted me for some work to feature and I got super excited compiling these photos from 2014-2015.
Read MoreI cannot wait to see (and capture!) Lindsay & David's—who have been together a decade— wedding this weekend. I did not have the chance to post our awesome "hang" session from what seems like forever ago... so here it is. Anticipating beautiful light and perhaps recreating some of these photos on Saturday. As long as the nuns allow us to hang on the porch this time...
Read MoreI have to say...I have never spent 6 hours shooting an engagement session—until now. I just couldn't stop hanging out with Ali & Marcie. They are madly in love, hysterical to be around and we have similar taste in drinks (and pizza). We started at the Ice Plant to beat the heat (and to save the awesome makeup by Amanda Hopcraft Makeup Artist) and ended up at the shrimp docks nearby and later, at the beach— once the clouds rolled in. The night ended with a stormy Florida sunset (my favorite) and beachgoers photobombing our last couple of shots. :)
I am beyond stoked to be part of their wedding come November.
