I know winter is ending (thank God, right?) but now that Kelsey & Jackson’s save-the-dates are out in the universe I had to share their awesome engagement from December. I have known these two for over half of my life and I am SO excited to be IN their wedding in February, not shooting it. But of course, I had to photograph my best friend before her big day. I’ll never forget how much fun (and how cold) this day was.
Read MoreRecently I photographed Nancy Shaver, the Mayor of St. Augustine, for a magazine article she is featured in about unleashing femininity in your home and workspace.
Nancy does not consider herself to be ultra-fem—particularly working in the male-dominated sector of city government—but there are pieces of "her" spread around her beautiful home in downtown St. Augustine. She is an art collector (her original Sally Man prints always catch my eye!) and for those who haven't been graciously hosted at her home, she has a wall of wine glasses to choose from, each with a story. I have always felt welcome, as her neighbor and friend, and am excited to share with you a more intimate view of this incredible home and woman.
Read MoreI cannot believe I am writing this on March 6, 2017 but there are SO many amazing images I made last year and so many awesome people I met along the way—I can't leave them behind without an awesome recap. 2016 proved to be the first big year of travel for SAP, including weddings and engagements in Chicago, New York, Asheville, Miami & Vermont. 2017 has even more destination weddings on the books.
Read MoreHanging out with Farrah and Isaac was like meeting up with old friends. We immediately connected and I was SUPER excited to see the private beach behind Isaac's home in Burlington, Vermont. We hiked, scouted and eventually ended up next to a classic wooden boat and a beautiful sunset. I am so thankful to have met the two of them—their laughter is contagious and I cannot wait to see them married next summer. And thanks, Vermont, for being one of the most beautiful places on earth.
Read MoreThis post is not only for my clients but for any couple wondering what this engagement-session phenomenon is all about.
An engagement session is about becoming comfortable with your photographer and learning what it takes to create rad portraits. It's important for the three of us to work together before the big day. It should (in my opinion) be provided to all couples who book a wedding package. Unless, for some reason, they absolutely detest the idea of an engagement shoot (which is okay), or can't make the trip before the wedding because they live in Antarctica (but if that were the case —I'd definitely fly there to shoot it.)Read More
I was not available for Oriana & Chad's wedding this past December—and was surprised (and excited!) to hear back from them a month later, saying that they were happy with their ceremony photos but really wanted a session with me for creative portraits. I had to post some of these images— not only because I am missing the night of lights magic but because her dress was killer and deserves some recognition.

Read MoreI had the GREAT pleasure of shooting with Camille Seiler last Sunday. www.camilleseiler.com We scouted out this location the night before—becoming lost in rusty bicycles, chairs, tools, sheds and large cloudy windows. Finding out where we wanted to shoot and set up lights was the hard part—there were so many options!
Read MoreWhen we contacted St. Augustine's A1 Used Truck & Auto parts inquiring about a shoot, they seemed a bit skeptical—I mean, common, having a photographer and model run around where cars, tires and oiled machinery are in piles. Definite liability.
