Vermont Wedding Photographer: Destination Wedding Photographer: Macey & Matt Get Hitched!

In lieu of today feeling like fall (finally!) in St. Augustine at a low of 70 :) I have a chance to sit down—windows open and comfortable— and reflect on this season. I have been moving Sarah Annay Photography slowly but surely to working the summer and fall months in Burlington, Vermont, where both my life and love affair with photography began. I had the opportunity to shoot Macey & Matt's wedding on September 3, 2016 and it was one for the books.

Vermont Wedding Photographer: Lake Champlain Creative Engagement, Farrah & Isaac

Hanging out with Farrah and Isaac was like meeting up with old friends. We immediately connected and I was SUPER excited to see the private beach behind Isaac's home in Burlington, Vermont. We hiked, scouted and eventually ended up next to a classic wooden boat and a beautiful sunset. I am so thankful to have met the two of them—their laughter is contagious and I cannot wait to see them married next summer. And thanks, Vermont, for being one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Vermont Wedding Photographer, St. Augustine Wedding Photographer, Scott Farm Wedding: Jared & Zara

Jared & Zara had their first ceremony & reception in the UK and when they asked me to shoot their Vermont reception—I was almost speechless. Jared is an amazing photographer in Boston and I was sure he had a few folks in mind. My brother grew up with Jared and it was the first wedding I worked with family around.

The day was as I imagined—completely laid back and absolutely beautiful. It ended up being a cold month in Vermont this July and the entire afternoon was a mix of mist and rain. Scott Farm is amazing. It was where Cider House Rules was filmed and even cooler, Jared's grandfather worked on the farm in the 1930's.

St. Augustine Wedding Photographer: Destination Vermont Wedding Photographer: Coates Island, Danielle & Corey

There is nothing more beautiful (and relaxing) than summer days spent on Lake Champlain. I grew up on Mallet's Bay, with the cool blue water and epic sunsets as my backdrop. When Corey and Danielle told me about their family friend who has a place on Coates Island—I was beyond excited. This is also where Corey proposed.

St. Augustine Wedding Photographer, Vermont Wedding Photographer: Ali & Mike Wasko, Burlington, Vermont Wedding

A lesson of rain and love:

Ali and Mike planned it perfectly. To be married on October 6, peak weekend of fall foliage in Burlington, Vermont. Their ceremony was to be held on the rooftop of the Sunset Ballroom and photos at a local vineyard nearby. I was BEYOND excited for the warm orange sunset I had in mind and the leaves falling lightly around them during their couples portraits.

PORTRAITS OF A PLACE: VERMONT
I think that I cannot preserve my health and spirits, unless I spend four hours a day at least—and it is commonly more than that—sauntering through the woods and over the hills and fields, absolutely free from all worldly engagements.

Katie & Adam Mannar: LOVERMONT Wedding

How I met Katie and Adam is a story in itself. My high school guidance counselor (also, an up and coming wedding officiant!) has been following my work since I moved to Florida five years ago. Old college buddies with Adam, he showed them my portfolio. I was ecstatic when Katie contacted me. What? A wedding in Woodstock! At the Woodstock Inn? Not only is this a place where Rockefeller's used to hang, but Woodstock has been coined by National Geographic as "one of America's most picturesque villages". And, it surely is.
