What a dream to photograph Stephanie & Kevin's wedding at my Alma mater. It all began with me moving into the girls dormitory at Flagler College nearly 10 years ago. I'll never forget this steamy—and beautiful—day and cannot wait to be back in these halls for future weddings. This space is a dream come true in St. Augustine, Florida.
Read MoreThis Peter Pan themed wedding was everything Krysta & Kaitlin imagined AND MORE. All of the details were insanely amazing and the team that put this all together is AWESOME. If you haven’t had a chance to check out The Carriage House in downtown St. Augustine, now’s the time—the garden is in full bloom and is the ideal setting for an indoor/outdoor Florida-style wedding. And obviously, you can make it as magical as you dream… thanks to the amazing set and floral design by Amanda at Simply Weddings by Amanda.
Read MoreI knew the moment I met Katie & Olivia over beers at Dog Rose Brewery, in St. Augustine, that we were going to be fast friends. The planned the entire wedding weekend, not only around each other and their love, but their families and AWESOME friends, who traveled from all over the country. The decor in the barn was super unique (and showcased their outdoor-sy nature), featuring US national parks at each table—and they even had hiking boots to change into during the reception. Olivia is in the Navy and they are about to relocate to CA. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for them (and to visit, of course...)
Read MoreKimberly and Johan are from Chicago and wanted to treat their families & friends to a fall destination wedding. They literally stumbled upon St. Augustine and chose the White Room as soon as they saw its awesome rooftop view. The Cubs won the World Series the NIGHT BEFORE the wedding so everyone was in AMAZING spirits all week long.
Read MoreNazmin & Kelly hired me to do their creative portraits post-wedding. These "after-sessions" are AWESOME because you don't have the stress of the wedding day and you can stroll around the city without a timeline to follow. :) We took portraits in the Treasury on the Plaza, where they were married only a month prior, and then headed toward the Lightner Museum. It was such a rad evening—here's a few of my favorites.
Read MoreI had a blast in Chicago for a little over 36 hours and I couldn't have had better tour guides than Kimberly & Johan. I absolutely LOVE seeing where my destination couples live and will travel anywhere to shoot awesome engagement sessions. It pushes me creativity to be on the loose in a new city!
Read MoreCait & Matt were married at Bowing Oaks in Jacksonville on May 15, 2016. Matt's dad married them under an oak tree in the late afternoon sun and it was one of the most beautiful ceremonies I've seen. The Posey's are a family of musicians and there was strumming, singing and praise the entire evening. Not to mention an amazing vintage pick-up parked outside as a Polaroid photo-booth backdrop for guests. Thrown in the back of the truck? Bags packed for California—Cait and Matt headed on a road trip out west the following morning.
Read MoreJoanna & Martin's sunrise ceremony, with only a few close family and friends, was intimate and beautiful. After the ceremony, we headed to Guana Tolomato Matanzas Reserve (one of my favorite places to shoot!) for round two of portraits—it was the best of both worlds, land and sea. Thanks for having me part of this special morning.
Read MoreAngela & Eric's wedding was one for the books.
It was my first time shooting in the new and improved Prince of Peace Church (with an amazing bridal room, by the way), a unique "first touch" idea (Angela surprised Eric with a guitar he has always wanted right before the ceremony), and a beautiful reception at The Fountain of Youth—not to mention TACOS from TacoLu. You know how I feel about tacos.
Read MoreThis post is not only for my clients but for any couple wondering what this engagement-session phenomenon is all about.
An engagement session is about becoming comfortable with your photographer and learning what it takes to create rad portraits. It's important for the three of us to work together before the big day. It should (in my opinion) be provided to all couples who book a wedding package. Unless, for some reason, they absolutely detest the idea of an engagement shoot (which is okay), or can't make the trip before the wedding because they live in Antarctica (but if that were the case —I'd definitely fly there to shoot it.)Read More
