Florida Destination Photographer, New York City Engagement Session: Erika & Michael

Meeting Erika & Michael at a small French brassiere in Manhattan for the first time was like meeting old friends I hadn't seen in years—but in winter wonderland. Erika and I were going back and forth weeks prior and I had been anticipating snow and was SO excited when I stepped out that morning.

St. Augustine Wedding Photographer: Oldest House & St. Augustine Distillery Wedding: Ashley & John

Ashley & John celebrated their love at two St. Augustine gems—The Oldest House & St. Augustine Distillery. They got ready at John's parents house near the Bayfront, hiding from each other throughout the morning. It was a destination wedding for a lot of their family (traveling from CA) and they got to see the city lit up for Night of Lights and drink cocktails at our one and only distillery.

Miami Wedding Photographer: Destination Wedding Photographer, Vizcaya Museum & Garden and Rusty Pelican

Bryn & Jarrod's wedding is one I will always remember. My first Miami adventure and it was spent with two awesome families that welcomed me like I was one of their own.

Bryn & Jarrod had their first look at Vizcaya Gardens, one of Miami's hottest (no pun intended) venues. And guess what? A huge storm rolled in. We waited it out in the gift shop and I am so glad we did. The rain stopped 15 minutes before closing time and because the storm scared everyone else away (it's rare to see this garden empty)—we were the only ones outside! The sun appeared in the gardens right as we were wrapping up and it's the most beautiful light I have seen this spring.

St. Augustine Wedding Photographer: Cait & Matt Posey, Bowing Oaks Wedding

Cait & Matt were married at Bowing Oaks in Jacksonville on May 15, 2016. Matt's dad married them under an oak tree in the late afternoon sun and it was one of the most beautiful ceremonies I've seen. The Posey's are a family of musicians and there was strumming, singing and praise the entire evening. Not to mention an amazing vintage pick-up parked outside as a Polaroid photo-booth backdrop for guests. Thrown in the back of the truck? Bags packed for California—Cait and Matt headed on a road trip out west the following morning.

St. Augustine Wedding PhotographeR & Educator: WOMEN'S WORKSHOP IN KOLKATA, INDIA

It may not be true for all travelers—as many with wanderlust find satisfaction filling up their atlases with red thumbtacks by their front door, always one foot headed in that direction— but for some there is a specific point on the map that tugs at their soul, until they are able to reach it. And once we do (I’ll now include myself in this projection), that destination isn’t merely checked off the list, but becomes built into our lives and perhaps one day, we find it to be home as much as anywhere else.

For me, this has always been India.

Lindsay & David Countdown to be wed!

I cannot wait to see (and capture!) Lindsay & David's—who have been together a decade— wedding this weekend. I did not have the chance to post our awesome "hang" session from what seems like forever ago... so here it is. Anticipating beautiful light and perhaps recreating some of these photos on Saturday. As long as the nuns allow us to hang on the porch this time...

Oh The Places (and faces) I have seen: A Big Thank You!

You ever have one of those nights where you fall asleep—your head heavy, mind moving frantically—and then wake the next morning, somewhat groggy, but in a happier/clearer place? I'm thinking: How did I get here? I barely slept. But now, the sun is out, my coffee/water/smoothie combo is ready to consume and I am ready to take on the day.

Red & rust: A Florida back woods portrait session

I had the GREAT pleasure of shooting with Camille Seiler last Sunday. www.camilleseiler.com We scouted out this location the night before—becoming lost in rusty bicycles, chairs, tools, sheds and large cloudy windows. Finding out where we wanted to shoot and set up lights was the hard part—there were so many options!
