Months have passed and I still find myself yearning for the music, food and street life New Orleans has to offer. I thought I'd share this post now or they'd end up hidden forever (with photos from Jazz Fest 2015). I can still feel the base pouring out of every restaurant and dive and the bounce from brass bands barging their way down the street while everyone joined in dancing. I can still taste the delicious oysters and beer. The energy is electric and doesn't leave you (ask anyone who saw me a few days afterwards) Thanks, New Orleans, for shocking my system and leaving me hungry for more jazz fest in the future.

The Blue Ocean Breeze is an awesome venue and house—sleeping up to 20 people with high-rise ceilings and the most beautiful light! Not to mention the spiral staircase where they had their first look before their ceremony. The sky darkened post-ceremony but provided the natural soft-box that photogs pray for during beach weddings.

It helped that they rolled up their pants (and dress?) and brought an awesome little lantern, which led to some awesomely-wide-Wes-Anderson-style shots.
Read MoreHolly & Jan are a special couple—I knew it the moment I met them, arriving late at a Starbuck's in Jacksonville (I am always getting lost in Jacksonville) but they greeted me with big smiles and a no worries attitude. Their creative energy is electric (Jan is a designer, Holly a painter) and when they are together, you feel happy just being around them. Our second date was at Halkers, after we spent the afternoon shooting at the Cummer Museum for their engagement shoot. They told me how they met (online), how Holly never thought she'd find the man of her dreams until she met Jan and she spoke of his unwavering support during her ups and downs battling lime disease. His eyes do not leave hers when she speaks.

Scattered thunderstorms filled the days forecast and hours before the ceremony we were still questioning whether the weather would hold up. We decided to go with it. I packed umbrellas and prepared for the storm... it never came.

I just returned from Atlanta an hour ago and after spending 7 hours in the car—my brain is fried but I still feel the enthusiasm and creative juices flowing from yesterday's workshop with Sam Hurd and many other talented photographers from all over the Southeast.

Read MorePaige and Andrew currently live apart (she in Atlanta, he in Mayport) and I could tell moments after meeting them that they were psyched to not only be taking these photos, but to be near each other. We planned a sunset shoot that changed to sunrise last minute and I am glad it did. It was a beautiful and chilly morning. The contrast of the sun rising and their dark attire had me basically seeing in black and white.
Read MoreSarah & Andy's wedding was truly unique. Sarah and I crossed paths years ago, while volunteering at an after school program together the first year I moved to Florida. I loved her free spirit and ability to connect with people right away. When she contacted me last spring (I'd graduated, she'd met Andy!) I was surprised to find out she and him bought a house only a block away from me!
