Jessica & Jake: St. Augustine Elopement, Vaill Point Park, Florida wedding photographer

Jessica and Jake eloped exactly where they had their first date—on a small fishing dock in St. Augustine south. Scattered thunderstorms filled the days forecast and hours before the ceremony we were still questioning whether the weather would hold up. We decided to go with it. I packed umbrellas and prepared for the storm... it never came.

Instead, beautiful grey clouds hovered above the dock during the ceremony. The wind picked up but Jake and Jessica just laughed as her hair flung wildly in her face. After the ceremony, those same clouds cast a warm light in various spots in the woods and we followed the winding trail, stopping where the light looked just right.  We heard owls hooting in the trees. Two flew above our heads, landed on a limb and watched us curiously.  What I love most about elopements is that it's just about them. Them, in nature and their new lives together. 

Walking back to the car, the sky darkened and the rain began to pour. We made it just in time.
