I look back at 2014 with a surreal sense of growth. Only one year ago, I was walking across the stage receiving two degrees from Flagler College with two years of experience as a photographer and photojournalist. After spending two months abroad in Southeast Asia, I came home with a lot of work ahead of me. It was my first year working as a full-time photographer— no more side jobs keeping me afloat— and I have to admit I was afraid.

Ali and Mike planned it perfectly. To be married on October 6, peak weekend of fall foliage in Burlington, Vermont. Their ceremony was to be held on the rooftop of the Sunset Ballroom and photos at a local vineyard nearby. I was BEYOND excited for the warm orange sunset I had in mind and the leaves falling lightly around them during their couples portraits.

Last spring, when Ben, Tiffany and I met at the Mission Nombre de Dios we weren't exactly sure what was in mind for their engagement shoot. The weather was overcast. Ben carried a blanket with him. I knew reading scripture was something they did together often so they brought their bible and a few other books. After setting up a few minutes later in the grass— it was like I disappeared.
