Beauty in the breakdown

Public School House Number 4 was established in 1917. Now, it stands to many as a meaningless decrepit monument. Whenever I have come across photos by skimming the "Save Public School Number Four" fan page—I have always thought that it held so much mystery.

Mystery and curiosity for places that are damaged and rusted led me here. I want to thank Katie for risking her life for some of these shots—at one point having her shoe stuck into decaying wood on the second floor—and for turning this place into a shockingly beautiful piece of art.
