When Glenn called me early August from Georgia about a proposal he'd been planning on St. Augustine beach, I will admit, I was nervous. This was my first "official" proposal shoot and I didn't want to screw it up. This will be one of the most memorable days of their lives, I thought to myself. How will I—and my camera–go unnoticed?
I asked, of course, what their love story was and Glenn told me that she was once, "the one that got away". The two of them had dated previously and many years had passed between them, where they led different lives.
Now, they are back together and he is not willing to lose her again.
The moment I saw Holly and Glenn walk down the beach, I knew it'd be easy to camouflage myself. They were only looking at the shells, the water and each other. Holly did not notice my presence and she didn't think the blanket and cooler full of champagne and fruit was for them.
I feel blessed to have witnessed this amazing sunrise on August 30, 2014 and to have seen the reaction on Holly's face when he finally asked—like she'd been waiting for this her entire life.
