As my summer plans continue to grow and unfold—exciting Vermont weddings and a big trip to Asia!—I can't help but stop and smell the flowers...literally.
I find that spring is often lost in the mix due to summer excitement and IT FLIES BY! So for the past week, I have spent every day submerging myself in it. I don't want to miss the azalea's blooming in the yard or the orchid in our front room that is growing fuller every day. Also: It's a killer time to go to the farmers market. All of the rainbow veggies are in stock—rainbow carrots and rainbow swiss chard are my favorite for slow-roasting and making crunchy-munchy chips.
Our little chicks (all seven of them!) are finally big enough to fend for themselves and we're so thankful we didn't lose any this winter. Today, three rooster chicks were given away. I am so thankful to have had the time to watch them grow.
Splashes, a close four-legged friend of mine, has also been enjoying spring. Smelling and eating anything that looks good.
I dare you all to do the same.
